I keep the lid off for the first few minutes. Then cover with lid and my hit drink is hot and can sip for the hour or so.I received a set of these tumblers for my birthday and I can't stop using them. My drinks stay cold for hours and no condensation on the outside of the cup. I use them so much I had to buy more.Simple but effective. Easy to useKeeps drink cold for a long time even without the top on! Super great!Problem was not with the item but with the seller. Item is definately used not new as purchased and the lid that was pictured was not included with the cup. I just want to get the lid not return the item but evidently thats not an option.I have a few stainless steel tumblers, and they are very handy for keeping drinks cool outdoors in hot weather or indoors for many hours. The outer shell is an attractive matte finish midnight blue that has not worn off even after many hand washings. The lid is great - sturdy , clear with blue tint, easy to put on and take off, good silicone seal. The hole for drinking out of is very small. The tumbler shape is tall and narrow rather than wide (like a white wine glass), which I thought would be a tip-over hazzard. With that in mind, the company added a rubberized bottom that really grips flat surfaces, so the only tip hazard I have had was in the beginning getting used to it grabbing the surface when setting it down. Hand wash only, indicated for hot and cold liquids. I haven't tried it with hot drinks, but cold drinks will still be cool (not cold) 8 hours later.I had always drank my wine in a glass but recently I had been hearing a lot about wine tumblers so I decided to give it a shot. I have to say I am quite pleased with this product, and I will probably not go back to a regular wine glass any time soon!There are several things I liked about this wine tumbler. Starting off with the look, this wine tumbler has a very nice color and the finish is elegant. It is a soft, not completely matte but not glossy finish, which I really like.Now for the design there are a couple of things I like. For starters, I like the shape as it comfortably fits in my hands. Also, the bottom of the tumbler is composed of a rubber material which means it stays in place when I lay it down and I don't have to worry about accidently touching it and it sliding over or tipping easily. The tumbler also comes with a clear lid that has a sip hole which allows you to cover your drink and still keep an eye on how much is left.As for the insulation, it works great! When I have a glass of wine I normally finish it much quicker because I don't like drinking room temperature wine so I want to drink it while it's cold. This tumbler allows me to pace myself and enjoy my wine, because I know it will stay cold. This tumbler can also be used to hold hot drinks. Although I normally use it for wine only, I tested it out by placing my hot coffee inside and I have to say it did a good job of keeping it nice and hot!Overall, I have greatly enjoyed this wine tumbler. I love that I am now able to enjoy my glass of wine without worrying about breaking a glass, it getting cold, or spilling it if I move the cup around a bit. This tumbler has made my wine drinking experience much better. If you're on the fence about purchasing a wine tumbler don't hesitate!
